Walsall - SP - Family Safeguarding Team

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team in Walsall. As a vital member of the team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and interventions to families in need, with a focus on safeguarding children and promoting their welfare.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Conducting assessments and developing care plans for families to address safeguarding concerns
  • Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to provide holistic support to families
  • Undertaking direct work with children and families, including home visits and case conferences
  • Participating in court proceedings and providing evidence as required
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with relevant legislation and best practice guidelines

The successful candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience in child protection and safeguarding work within a social work setting
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make evidence-based decisions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families and professionals
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a complex caseload
