Children's IRO - Enfield
Enfield Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic Qualified Social Work team. This role is essential in ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard and that their best interests are at the forefront of all care planning processes. As an IRO, you will play a critical role in reviewing the care plans of looked-after children, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and promoting their welfare.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular reviews of care plans for children in care, ensuring they meet statutory requirements.
- Facilitating meetings with children, families, and professionals to gather feedback and ensure the child's voice is central to the process.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for improvements.
- Providing advice and guidance to social workers and other professionals regarding best practices in child welfare.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with local and national policies.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and working with looked-after children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage children and families effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload efficiently.
