Warwickshire - Senior Social Worker - Duty & Assessment

Warwickshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Duty & Assessment team. This pivotal role requires a passionate professional to provide high-quality assessments and interventions for children and families in our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children, ensuring their needs are met effectively and compassionately.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in partnership with families and other professionals.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to junior staff and social work students.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in children's social work, particularly in Duty & Assessment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with families and professionals alike.
