Join our dedicated CAFCASS Work To First Hearing team in a hybrid role that allows you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. This position requires you to work in the office for just two days per month, providing you with the flexibility to balance your professional and personal commitments while contributing to vital child welfare services. As a key member of our Care (Qualified) team, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, preparing reports, and presenting findings in court to ensure the best outcomes for children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting detailed assessments of children and families involved in care proceedings.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports for court that present findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborating with social workers, legal representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure a child-centered approach.
  • Attending court hearings and providing expert testimony as required.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and documentation in compliance with our policies.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

  • A relevant professional qualification in social work or a related field.
  • Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., Social Work England).
  • A strong understanding of child protection legislation and care proceedings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
