Children's SSW - Fostering Team -

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Children's Social Worker to join our Fostering Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting vulnerable children and families, ensuring that each child receives the care, stability, and support they need to thrive. You will work collaboratively with foster families, social service agencies, and other stakeholders to promote the best interests of children in foster care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine their needs and suitability for foster care.
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with foster parents and other professionals.
  • Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster families, ensuring compliance with agency policies and regulations.
  • Facilitating training and support groups for foster parents to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
  • Participating in court hearings and advocating for the best interests of children.

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a recognized social work qualification (e.g., a degree in Social Work) and be registered with the relevant professional body. Essential skills include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of child welfare legislation and practices. Experience in fostering or working with children and families in crisis is highly desirable.
