As a Children’s SSW within the D&A Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children and families affected by substance misuse.
  • Developing and implementing tailored intervention plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and other professionals to facilitate effective support and resources.
  • Monitoring and reviewing cases to ensure progress and compliance with care plans.
  • Providing advice, guidance, and support to families, helping them navigate challenges related to substance misuse.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly in the context of substance misuse.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with families.
