We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Team Manager for our Child in Need and Child Protection Team at the City of Wolverhampton Council. As a Qualified Social Worker, you will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our community.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Manage a team of social workers and support staff to ensure effective delivery of services to children and families.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Undertake complex case work, including assessments, child protection investigations, and court proceedings.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals to coordinate multi-disciplinary support for children and families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve service delivery and outcomes for children.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within Children's Services.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make sound judgments in complex situations.
