We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Looked After Children (LAC) Team in the vibrant City of Wolverhampton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children and families in need, with a focus on safeguarding and promoting their well-being.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Undertaking assessments and creating care plans for children in care
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and reviews to ensure the best outcomes for children
  • Working collaboratively with families, carers, and other professionals to support children's needs
  • Providing direct support and intervention to children and young people in challenging situations
  • Advocating for the rights and best interests of children under your care

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a relevant social work qualification and HCPC registration
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children and families in a social work setting
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and safeguarding
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a demanding caseload
