We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our team in Wigan, working in the Duty and Assessment Team (DTM) within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families in need of support or protection
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with service users and partner agencies
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and external stakeholders on complex case matters
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to decision-making processes to ensure the safety and well-being of children
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
- Experience working within a similar statutory child protection setting, ideally within a MASH or DTM team
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk and safeguard children effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with service users and professionals
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
