We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join our dynamic team in Barnet. This pivotal role will provide essential support to children and young people affected by domestic violence, ensuring their safety and well-being while empowering them to rebuild their lives. As a Children's IDVA, you will work closely with families, schools, and local agencies to deliver tailored interventions that address the unique needs of each child.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting risk assessments and developing safety plans for children and young people.
  • Providing one-on-one support and advocacy to children affected by domestic violence.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency teams to ensure comprehensive support services are in place.
  • Facilitating workshops and educational programs on healthy relationships and personal safety.
  • Maintaining accurate records and case documentation in compliance with safeguarding policies.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly in a domestic violence context.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Proficient in case management and report writing.
