Wigan - QSW - Child in Care Team
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Child in Care Team in Wigan. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and intervention to children and families involved in the care system.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Conducting assessments and developing care plans for children in care
- Undertaking direct work with children and young people to support their emotional and social development
- Liaising with external agencies and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children
- Attending court hearings and providing evidence as required
- Participating in team meetings and case conferences to review progress and make decisions
Essential qualifications and skills:
- Qualified Social Worker with a relevant social work qualification
- Registered with Social Work England
- Demonstrated experience working with children in care and knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a complex caseload
