Children's SW - Long Term Safeguarding Team - Gateshead

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our Long Term Safeguarding Team in Gateshead. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and intervention to children and families in need.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Undertake assessments to identify risks and develop appropriate safeguarding plans
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for children
  • Provide direct support to children and families through advocacy, counseling, and guidance
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and reports
  • Participate in case conferences, court proceedings, and reviews as required

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience in child protection and safeguarding work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex cases

Additional requirements:

  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
