Children's IRO - Coventry
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic team in Coventry. The ideal candidate will be committed to improving the lives of children and young people in care, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met. As an IRO, you will play a vital role in the statutory review process, advocating for the best interests of children and working collaboratively with families, social workers, and other professionals.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting statutory reviews of care plans for children and young people in care.
- Ensuring that the views and wishes of children are central to the review process.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborating with multi-agency teams to promote positive outcomes for children.
- Providing guidance and support to social workers and other professionals involved in the care of children.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Experience in children’s social care, particularly in a reviewing or advocacy role.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance pertaining to children in care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage with children and families.
