Children's LADO - Reading
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer) to join our dynamic team in Reading. This pivotal role will involve working closely with children, families, and professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children. As a Children's LADO, you will be responsible for overseeing allegations against individuals who work with children, ensuring that all cases are handled in accordance with statutory guidelines and best practice.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Investigating allegations against individuals working with children, ensuring a thorough and impartial process.
- Providing advice and guidance to local agencies and organizations on child safeguarding issues.
- Collaborating with social services, police, and other stakeholders to ensure the safety of children.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation for all cases, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Delivering training and awareness sessions on safeguarding practices to various organizations and staff.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Extensive experience in child protection and safeguarding.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
