Children's IRO - Plymouth

Plymouth City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic team in the Qualified Social Work field. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard and their best interests are at the forefront of decision-making processes.
As a Children's IRO, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting independent reviews of care plans for children and young people in care.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and promoting the welfare of children.
- Facilitating meetings with children, families, and professionals to gather feedback and assess needs.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for improvement.
- Providing expert advice and support to social workers and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- Qualified Social Worker status with a recognized degree in Social Work.
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
