We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Looked After Children (LAC) team in Luton. This role offers an attractive rate of £38.84 per hour (umbrella) and provides an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people. As a QSW, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children in care, developing care plans, and ensuring that their welfare is prioritized in all decisions made.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families to identify needs and risks.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Providing support and guidance to foster carers and residential staff to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to child protection conferences.
The ideal candidate will have the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience working with children and families, particularly in a looked-after children setting.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
