Social worker - Assessment & CP - Swindon

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Assessment & Child Protection team in Swindon. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in our community. As a qualified social worker, you will engage in comprehensive assessments, develop intervention plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide the best outcomes for children and their families.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families in need of support.
  • Developing and implementing care plans that address identified needs.
  • Working closely with families to provide guidance and support, ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Collaborating with schools, healthcare providers, and other agencies to coordinate services.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of casework and interventions.
  • Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse families.
  • Proficient in case management and report writing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
