Your responsibilities will include completing high-quality assessments, developing and reviewing care and support plans, undertaking safeguarding enquiries and responding appropriately to changing levels of risk. You will manage an allocated caseload, maintain accurate and timely records, prepare reports and make well-informed recommendations in line with relevant legislation, policies and professional standards.

Working collaboratively with individuals, families, carers and partner agencies, you will coordinate services and promote effective multi-agency working. You will contribute to reviews, professional meetings and care planning discussions, while ensuring that people are treated with dignity, respect and fairness. The role also involves promoting inclusion, independence and least restrictive practice, and challenging discrimination wherever it occurs.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with the relevant professional regulator. Experience of assessment, care planning, safeguarding and managing a varied caseload is desirable, together with a sound understanding of social care legislation and strengths-based practice. Newly qualified Social Workers who can demonstrate the required knowledge, values and commitment are also encouraged to apply.

You will need excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team. A reflective approach, emotional resilience and commitment to continuous professional development are essential. The ability to travel between locations and undertake visits in the community is required, so a driving licence and access to suitable transport may be necessary.
