This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by promoting children’s safety, wellbeing and development, while working collaboratively with families and partner agencies.

You will manage a varied caseload involving children and young people who may be subject to child in need, child protection or care proceedings. Your responsibilities will include completing high-quality assessments, identifying risks and strengths, developing effective plans and reviewing progress regularly. You will build positive relationships with children and families, ensuring their voices, wishes and feelings are central to decision-making.

The role will involve undertaking statutory visits, responding to safeguarding concerns, preparing reports and presenting information at meetings, reviews and court hearings where required. You will work closely with education, health, police and other professionals to coordinate support and achieve positive outcomes. Accurate, timely case recording and compliance with relevant legislation, policies and professional standards will be essential.

You will need sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection procedures, assessment frameworks and the principles of strengths-based, relationship-focused practice. Experience of working with children and families in a statutory setting is desirable, along with the confidence to manage complex situations and competing priorities.

You should be a skilled communicator, able to engage effectively with children, families and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
