An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified Social Worker to join a Family Help service in Hertfordshire. This role is focused on supporting children, young people and families to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes through strengths-based and relationship-led practice.

You will manage a varied caseload involving children and families who may require early help, targeted support or statutory intervention. Working collaboratively with families and partner agencies, you will complete high-quality assessments, identify strengths and areas of need, and develop clear plans that promote safety, stability and improved wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include undertaking direct work with children and parents, monitoring progress, reviewing plans and responding appropriately to changing circumstances. You will contribute to multi-agency meetings, provide professional advice, maintain accurate and timely records, and ensure that all decisions are informed by evidence, legislation and relevant safeguarding procedures. You will also support effective transitions between services and escalate concerns where necessary.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England. Experience of working with children, young people and families is essential, together with a sound understanding of safeguarding, assessment frameworks, child development and relevant social care legislation. You should be confident managing competing priorities, producing clear reports and making well-reasoned professional decisions.

We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and reflective practitioner who can build trusting relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. You will need excellent communication skills, a commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. A valid driving licence and the ability to travel across the area may be required.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children and families while developing your practice within a supportive and collaborative environment. Flexible working arrangements, regular supervision and opportunities for professional development are available.
