We are seeking a qualified Children’s Social Worker to join a Family Help Team supporting children, young people and their families to achieve positive and lasting outcomes. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with families at an important stage in their lives, helping them build on their strengths, overcome challenges and access the right support at the right time.

You will manage a varied caseload, completing high-quality assessments and developing effective plans with children and families. You will work alongside parents, carers, schools, health professionals, voluntary organisations and other partner agencies to coordinate support and promote children’s safety, wellbeing and development. Where necessary, you will respond to safeguarding concerns, undertake statutory social work interventions and contribute to decisions about the most appropriate level of support.

The role will involve undertaking direct work with children and young people, ensuring their voices, wishes and feelings are central to planning and decision-making. You will monitor progress, review plans regularly and take appropriate action when circumstances change. You may also be required to prepare reports, maintain accurate case records and contribute to meetings, professional discussions and legal proceedings where applicable.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. You should have experience of working with children and families in a statutory or relevant social care setting, together with a sound understanding of safeguarding procedures, child development and the legal framework relating to children’s services. You will need strong assessment, communication and organisation skills, alongside the ability to build trusting relationships and make balanced, evidence-based decisions. A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice, continuous professional development and achieving the best outcomes for children is essential. In return, you can expect professional support, opportunities to develop your practice and the chance to make a meaningful difference to families.
