We are seeking an experienced and committed Senior Social Worker to join a safeguarding service supporting children, young people and families across Kingston and Richmond. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified social worker who is passionate about protecting children, promoting positive outcomes and delivering effective, strengths-based practice.

In this role, you will manage a complex caseload involving children who may be at risk of harm or neglect. You will undertake assessments, develop and review plans, contribute to child protection enquiries and participate in strategy discussions, reviews and multi-agency meetings. You will work closely with children, families, schools, health professionals, police and other partner agencies to ensure that safeguarding concerns are identified and responded to appropriately.

You will be expected to make sound, evidence-based decisions, maintain accurate and timely records, and ensure that the child’s voice remains central to all interventions. The role also involves contributing to court work where required, preparing high-quality reports and working within relevant legislation, statutory guidance and professional standards.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will provide advice and support to less experienced colleagues, contribute to reflective supervision and help promote continuous improvement within the service. You will model effective practice, challenge appropriately and support a culture of learning, accountability and professional development.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England. You should have substantial post-qualification experience in children’s social care, safeguarding or child protection, together with a sound understanding of statutory frameworks and assessment processes. Strong communication, organisation and analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and work confidently in a multi-agency environment.

You will be joining a supportive and committed team that values professional judgement, collaboration and high-quality practice. The successful candidate will demonstrate resilience, empathy and a clear commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.
