We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Social Worker to join a locality-based adult social care team in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified social worker who is committed to promoting independence, improving outcomes and delivering person-centred support within the community.

You will manage a varied and complex caseload, working with adults and their families to assess needs, identify strengths and agree effective support plans. Your responsibilities will include completing statutory assessments, reviews and safeguarding enquiries; coordinating multi-disciplinary interventions; arranging appropriate care and support; and ensuring that decisions are lawful, proportionate and focused on the individual’s wellbeing.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues, contribute to the development of practice and support less experienced social workers and students. You will work collaboratively with health professionals, care providers, voluntary organisations and other partners, maintaining effective communication and accurate, timely records. You will also contribute to service improvement and the ongoing development of strengths-based, preventative approaches.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England. You will have substantial post-qualifying experience in adult social care, including experience of managing complex cases, safeguarding, mental capacity assessments and the application of relevant legislation. A sound understanding of strengths-based practice, self-directed support and risk management is essential.

You will be an excellent communicator with strong assessment, analytical and decision-making skills. The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and remain calm in challenging situations is important, as is a commitment to equality, dignity and inclusive practice. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle may be required for travel across the locality.

In return, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives while developing your professional expertise within a supportive and collaborative team. Flexible working arrangements and a comprehensive benefits package may be available.
