The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work - Looked After Children (LAC) Team. As a Qualified Social Worker in the LAC Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Attending and contributing to multi-agency meetings and reviews.
  • Providing support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families.
  • Ensuring compliance with local and national policies and legislation.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Substantial experience working with children and families, particularly in a LAC setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
