The London Borough of Havering is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Assessment Team. This role is crucial in ensuring the welfare and safety of children and young people within our community. As a Children's SW, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing care plans, and working collaboratively with families and other professionals to promote the best outcomes for children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families in need of support.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in partnership with families and relevant agencies.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding procedures.
  • Providing advice and support to families, ensuring they have access to necessary resources.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in children's social work, particularly in assessment and intervention.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures.
