The London Borough of Havering is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Assistant Practitioner (AP) to join our Safeguarding Team. Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Supporting social workers in assessing the needs of children and families, ensuring that safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Conducting home visits and engaging with children, parents, and carers to gather information and provide support.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring they are tailored to individual needs.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of casework and interventions.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to case discussions to promote best practices in safeguarding.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A relevant qualification in social work, such as a degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Experience working with children and families in a social care setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and child protection principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and able to manage a caseload.
