Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of kinship carers and the children placed with them.
  • Developing and implementing support plans tailored to the needs of children and their families.
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure the welfare and safety of children.
  • Providing ongoing support and supervision to kinship carers, addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with local policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in children’s social work, particularly in fostering or kinship care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with families and professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating resilience and problem-solving skills.
