Senior Social Worker - Assessment Team - Barnet Council

Barnet Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Assessment Team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of individuals and families to identify needs and risks.

  • Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with council policies and relevant legislation.
  • Participating in safeguarding investigations and responding to concerns regarding child and adult welfare.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in social work, particularly within assessment and safeguarding.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex cases effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with service users and partner agencies.
