We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our team in Worcestershire, offering a competitive rate of £38.00 per hour on an umbrella basis. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the best interests of children and young people are at the heart of all decisions made regarding their care plans. You will provide independent oversight and scrutiny of care plans, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and promoting positive outcomes for children.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting independent reviews of care plans and ensuring that they are child-centered and outcome-focused.
- Facilitating multi-agency meetings and engaging with children, families, and professionals to gather relevant information.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
- Ensuring that the voice of the child is heard and considered in all decision-making processes.
- Providing advice and support to social workers and other professionals involved in the care of children.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England (SWE) or equivalent professional body.
- Significant experience in child protection and working within children's services.
