The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Social Worker to join our Assessment & MASH Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our community. You will work collaboratively with families, children, and other professionals to assess needs, develop plans, and ensure that the best interests of children are always prioritized.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families in a timely manner.
  • Developing and implementing effective intervention plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Working closely with partner agencies to coordinate support and services.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategy discussions.
  • Providing advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders regarding child protection issues.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
