Children's SW - CWD Team - Swindon
Swindon Borough Council is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting children with disabilities and their families, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and support. You will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to assess needs, develop care plans, and implement interventions that promote the well-being and development of children in our community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children with disabilities and their families.
- Developing and reviewing care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
- Providing direct support and guidance to children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
- Working closely with schools, health services, and other agencies to coordinate care and services.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with local and national standards.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work.
