We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Looked After Children (LAC) team in Bury. This role is pivotal in ensuring the well-being and development of children in care. As a Social Worker - LAC, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and professionals.
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to children in care, including emotional and practical assistance.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings and contributing to decision-making processes regarding children's care.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly in a looked-after children context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to building trusting relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
