Redcar and Cleveland Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Qualified Social Worker to join our Children in Care Team. As a Senior Qualified Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of children in care, ensuring that their needs are met and their voices are heard.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing effective care plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Providing guidance and support to junior social workers and fostering a culture of continuous professional development within the team.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings to advocate for the best interests of children and ensure coordinated service delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case records in accordance with statutory requirements and organizational policies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and working with children in care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
