Shropshire Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Manager for our Looked After Children Team. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing a team of social workers and support staff to ensure effective delivery of services to looked-after children.
- Overseeing case management and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice standards.
- Providing supervision, support, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Collaborating with other agencies and stakeholders to promote the best outcomes for children.
- Monitoring and evaluating team performance, implementing improvements where necessary.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and looked-after children services.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building positive relationships.
