We are seeking an experienced and motivated Children’s Social Worker to join a high-demand team supporting children, young people and their families. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional who is committed to improving outcomes, safeguarding children and delivering purposeful, child-centred social work.

You will manage a varied caseload involving children and young people who may require support through child in need, child protection, care proceedings or looked-after children services. Your responsibilities will include completing high-quality assessments, developing effective plans, undertaking statutory visits, preparing reports and maintaining accurate, timely records. You will work closely with children, families, schools, health professionals, legal services and other partner agencies to ensure that plans are coordinated and focused on achievable outcomes.

The role will involve responding to safeguarding concerns, identifying risk, participating in strategy discussions and contributing to relevant meetings and reviews. You will be expected to build positive relationships with families, challenge appropriately when necessary and ensure that the child’s voice, wishes and feelings remain central to all decision-making. You will also support permanence planning and promote stability, safety and wellbeing for children in care.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Experience of working in children’s services, together with a sound understanding of relevant legislation, statutory guidance and safeguarding practice, is essential. You should be confident managing competing priorities, working under pressure and making defensible professional decisions.

We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, works collaboratively and demonstrates resilience, professional curiosity and a strong commitment to continuous improvement. In return, you will receive regular supervision, access to professional development and the opportunity to contribute to a supportive service focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for children and families.
