Children's SW - Assessment Team - Durham

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our Assessment Team in Durham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine their needs and develop appropriate support plans.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Undertake timely and thorough assessments of children and families in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to gather information and assess risks to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Develop and implement care plans that address the identified needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and considered.
  • Participate in case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings as required, providing accurate and timely reports and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a relevant social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments and working with children and families in a social care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions in complex situations.
