CP Chair | Leeds City Council
Leeds City Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated CP Chair to join our dynamic team in the Qualified Social Work field. As a CP Chair, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding vulnerable children and young people, ensuring their welfare and best interests are at the forefront of all decisions. You will lead Child Protection Conferences, fostering collaborative relationships with families, professionals, and partner agencies to ensure effective multi-agency working.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Chairing Child Protection Conferences and ensuring that all participants are engaged and contributing to the process.
- Developing and implementing effective action plans that address the needs of children and families.
- Monitoring progress and outcomes, ensuring timely reviews and adjustments as necessary.
- Providing expert guidance and support to social workers and other professionals involved in child protection.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and best practice within the team.
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, CSS, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
