The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our Children & Families team. As an Independent Reviewing Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage with children, families, and professionals.
