We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Fostering Support Team in Lambeth. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in need. As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to foster carers, ensuring the highest standards of care for vulnerable children.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Supervising and supporting a caseload of foster carers, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in their care.
- Conducting regular home visits and assessments to monitor the progress and well-being of foster placements.
- Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with foster carers, children, and relevant stakeholders.
- Providing training and guidance to foster carers on best practices in child care and safeguarding.
- Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and reviews to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
Essential qualifications and skills:
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England and a minimum of 2 years' post-qualifying experience in a social work setting.
- Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, child protection procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of individuals.
- Ability to work independently, manage a complex caseload, and make sound decisions under pressure.
