We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Fostering Support Team in Lambeth. Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Supervising and supporting a caseload of foster carers, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in their care.
  • Conducting regular home visits and assessments to monitor the progress and well-being of foster placements.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with foster carers, children, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing training and guidance to foster carers on best practices in child care and safeguarding.
  • Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and reviews to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England and a minimum of 2 years' post-qualifying experience in a social work setting.
  • Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, child protection procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a complex caseload, and make sound decisions under pressure.
